Job Opportunities

School-Based Mental Health Clinician

  • Provides coordination and oversight of school-based mental health and wellness services as a member of a school team within Sacramento County’s continuum of care

  • Provides direct mental health and wellness services and case management to students and families

  • Assists in the development and delivery of school-wide mental health and wellness interventions, programs, and trainings

  • Provides clinical supervision, consultation, and technical assistance to assigned interns/associates and student interns/trainees to ensure the delivery of a clinically sound comprehensive program

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Family Navigator

  • Offer rapid response (e.g., a phone call within 24 to 48 hours) when a family has requested assistance

  • Listen and provide confidential emotional support, including during school meetings

  • Help families with goal setting

  • Empower families to make informed choices that are right for them

  • Assess families’ needs and strengths

  • Collect assessment and referral information

  • Provide peer support in one-on-one and group settings

  • Staff a family education or resource center on school grounds

Career Pipeline

SCOE’s Career Pipeline programs offer internships providing hands-on experience in the Education and School-Based Mental Health and Wellness fields. These internship programs provide mentoring support and work-based learning experiences that will move you along your chosen career path.

School-Based Mental Health & Wellness Path

We provide internships for undergraduate and graduate students which allow you to explore careers in the mental health and wellness field while gaining valuable experience, building relationships, and contributing to the community. For individuals who have earned their graduate degree in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy, we offer the Associate Clinician position which allows you to be a full-time employee while earning your clinical hours under a licensed clinician.
