Biography

Naima Bryant serves in the role of Clinician II, providing clinical supervision to graduate level interns and pre-licensed clinicians within the School-Based Mental Health and Wellness Program. Naima is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist with a deep commitment to social justice.

Naima possesses over fifteen years of experience in the mental health field and more than twenty years of working within the school system. Naima believes deeply in the power of education, relationships, and youth advocacy. She is dedicated to creating safe and inclusive spaces for both the clinicians she supports, and by proxy, the students and families who interact with the program’s clinicians.

In previous roles, Naima has provided school-based mental health services, worked with commercially sexually exploited youth, supported unhoused families in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district, and worked as a pre-school teacher in her early career.

Naima holds her bachelor's degrees from San Francisco State University in Psychology and Africana Studies, and earned her master’s degree in counseling at California State University, East Bay.

Naima was born and raised in San Francisco, and now lives in Sacramento County with her family. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, seeing friends, and traveling.
